Mijas Golf Club Los Olivos (RENOVATED IN 2000/2001)
Mijas Golf Club Los Olivos was designed by Robert Trent Jones Snr., which distinguishes Los Olivos from Los Lagos, in addition to the abundance of trees that give it its name (multiple Olive trees, although casuarinas are also integrated into the landscape and fig trees), is its smaller extension and the reduction in water hazards, as well as smaller, undulating greens with drops.
Being both the work of the same designer, there is no doubt that he wanted to favor an interesting contrast between the two terrains: if Los Lagos was based on obstacles of sand and water, Los Olivos puts the greatest difficulties in the groves that flank the streets and in the smallest width of these, in addition to having elevated greens.
Los Olivos is a more suitable course for players with better technical qualities and, consequently, greater precision in their game; which, together with its brother Los Lagos, continues to be one of the most famous commercial fields on the Costa Del Sol.
